On the day I arrived in Taiwan, I took the airport MRT at my own expense to Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station, and cashed in the [High Speed Rail 3-Day Ticket] at the counter, and exchanged for a ticket from Taoyuan to Kaohsiung. The counter will distribute a booklet with the printed information of the ticket. When entering and exiting the gate of the high-speed rail station, you only need to hand the booklet and passport to the high-speed rail duty personnel for inspection. For the second product in the package ~ popular scenic spot transportation, I chose [Taiwan Good Travel ~ Alishan A Line], which runs between Chiayi High Speed Rail Station and Alishan Park, and you can choose whether to make a reservation. Those who have reserved physical tickets in advance will get on the bus first, followed by those who have made reservations, and finally the passengers queuing on site. For the third product, I chose [Kaohsiung MRT/Light Rail 2-Day Ticket] to explore the main attractions in Kaohsiung City. I also took [Taiwan Good Travel ~ Kenting Line] at my own expense to Hengchun Ancient Town ~ Cape No. 7. This route is also included in the transportation options for popular scenic spots, but I chose the free Alishan A line and took the high-speed rail from Zuoying, Kaohsiung to Chiayi. Since I had plenty of time to travel, I went straight from Zuoying, Kaohsiung to Taipei for a half-day trip and experienced the lives of Taiwanese residents who need to use the high-speed rail to go north on weekdays. The 3-day high-speed rail ticket and the additional products 2 and 3 were used up in this way. Next, I started using another package of Taiwan Pass~Taiwan Railway 5-day ticket (classic version) and additional products.

This is undoubtedly the best thing I purchased for our Taiwan trip. I got the B1T1 deal for me and my dad and we saved an estimated NTD12,000 because of this. We were able to go to the different provinces of Taiwan from Taipei (Kaohsiung and Taichung) and even got to go to Taoyuan more than once to shop at Gloria Outlets without breaking the bank. This is a super underrated Pass. The only downside is that it is a bit confusing at first, but thankfully we were able to get the hang of it and we made the most out of our trip because of this. Could not find any videos/guides online on how to use this, but you just have to follow the instructions on the app.

Reservation, app usage is easy and good Just be careful you have to activate it the day before. I made a mistake thus i have to pay for the day 1 thr train since i did not activate it the day before. Overall the bus tours, mrt rides are worth IT!!

I make payment and booking starting date starting on 22/12/24 but however the Taiwan high speed rail their system follow when you’re submit on at the apps which call as TAIWAN PASS so unfortunately I have to made the date starting on 23/12 which I approached counter on 22/12 for redeem a hard copy because they not following the date which you putting for starting date. Need to be alert for this when you’re ready for travelling. Love the package for this high speed rail train and Kaohisung MRT and local day trip pass.
