I have tried other DMZ tour (3rd tunnel). It was good but it was too commercialized and we were 30+ in a bus. This Cheorwon tour was very personal as the Tour guide was only handling 2-4 tourist the entire tour. All our questions have been answered by Sir Leo and he was enthusiastic telling all the details about the North And South Korea history. The tour was also just in the right pace. We enjoyed the Cheorwon reservoir the most and the tunnel tool (2nd tunnel) as close second. We recommend this if you want a more personal tour and if you want to be as closest as possible to NK. Cheorwon is used to be part of NK after all.

This trip was in a group of 4 people. Thanks to the tour guide Mr. Shin for his careful care and clear explanation along the way, which made me understand the situation in the DMZ area before and after the Korean War. It was like a lesson. I got close to the North Korean border. The tour guide told me when I could take pictures. In the afternoon, I went to the Cheorwon Hantan River Geopark for a walk. The scenery was beautiful. Mr. Shin took care of us along the way, reminded us to be careful and took the initiative to take pictures for us. I also thank the driver Kim for driving carefully along the way and leading us to various attractions safely. Although we couldn't communicate, he always responded with a smile. This trip was very exciting and I was very satisfied. It is worth recommending.

Cheorwon's second tunnel is a little far from Seoul, so I haven't been able to go there until now, but I managed to arrange it so that I could go on the Monday tour, and went to Korea. It seems that it is often canceled on Saturdays (sorry if I'm wrong). It was about a two-hour drive to Cheorwon, and I was glad that we took a toilet break on the way. We were led by a military lead vehicle to the second tunnel. There were still vivid traces of dynamite being set up. After that, we visited the observation deck and the remains of the station building. For lunch, the restaurant we had planned to go to was closed, so we had Budae Jjigae from King Kong in Cheorwon. The manager spoke Japanese. They said that we could have free refills of rice, ramen, and side dishes, but we could only finish the amount. After that, we went to Hantan River World Geopark. Of the 3.6km total length, it was a 1km out and back course. There were a lot of suspension bridges, and the structure allows you to see down, so if you're scared of heights, please don't look down until you get used to it. If we had time, we would have liked to go to the end. We were looking forward to the columnar joints, so... On the way back, we slept soundly all the way to Seoul. Finally, our guide, Mr. Park, gave us a tour that really put us in the shoes of a tourist. It was a very worthwhile experience. Thank you very much.

The very serious tour guide introduced the history of North and South Korea in detail from the moment he got on the bus. He also gave an in-depth explanation of every point and answered the questions raised by the passengers as much as possible. Entering the DMZ is a very special experience. You need to pass through the outpost and are accompanied by soldiers throughout the process. You can see the North Korean outpost and the soldiers through the observation tower's telescope. It is a worthwhile trip.
