I wanted to try on a kimono in Kyoto, so this was the part I was most looking forward to on my trip ♥ The location of the store was a little more confusing than I thought, but it was right in the middle of the city (Gion) so it was easy to walk around. When I went inside the store, the staff members spoke English so well that there was no problem communicating at all. There are so many pretty kimonos here! While I was walking around Kyoto that day and seeing other people, I thought that the Rika Wafuku kimonos were a bit more sophisticated and pretty! (You can tell Rika's is obvious) My friend and I chose a kimono of the same design but in a different color. When you choose a kimono, they explain the options, such as a belt to wear around the waist? and a gold decoration on the back? (I don't know the name ^^;) We bought that for 500 yen + 500 yen more. ※Cash only※ Since we were moving to Osaka right away, we also paid 1,000 yen per person to store our luggage. After putting on the kimono, they got my hair done. I really liked my hair that day ^^ After I got it done nicely, I walked around Kiyomizu-dera and Fushimi Inari Shrine, and I got a ton of pictures taken by foreigners..ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ ※Caution※ It's not as cheap as I thought, but I think it's an experience worth trying! Also, there's a street called Pontocho near the Gion point, so be sure to take pictures there. The Kyoto vibe is no joke~~

I rented a kimono, which is a must-do when visiting Kyoto. After searching for various kimono rental shops, I came here because I could easily find information about kimono rentals on Instagram, it was close to Gion Shijo Station, and there were a variety of hair styles. Since I don't speak Japanese well, I had a hard time communicating with the staff, and since they just left me alone when I didn't know much about the kimono rental process, I ended up choosing it without thinking. Then, a staff member came and took me to the kimono I chose, recommended the obi ornament that I paid an additional fee for on the spot, and the rental process was quickly completed. I went to the 4th floor, which is the women's changing room, and I think there may be likes and dislikes here. There is no separate changing room, and the staff and customers just undress and put on the kimono together in a space...ㅎ Most other shops seem to operate like this, but some have separate changing rooms, so if you are worried about this, it would be a good idea to look for other places. The staff is quick to put on the kimono and style your hair, so it's done quickly. I also really like the hair styling. But during this process, about 4 employees take turns recommending accessories that require additional payment... They really persisted... These parts were a bit uncomfortable and difficult... Even though it was a short time, if you had fun and came to check out, as soon as you took off your shoes, the employee immediately took off everything except the kimono underwear...ㅎ It was quite embarrassing, but fortunately there were only a few customers... After that, you can just take the same clothes and change... Conclusion: For those who feel uncomfortable changing clothes with other people and are uncomfortable with being recommended additional payment, I recommend looking for another store / If you can endure it all, I recommend using this place.
