[Up to 150 yen discount] Oita Marine Palace Aquarium "Umitamago" Online ticket reservation (Kyushu)

We went to Oita Marine Palace Aquarium "Umitamago"! Surrounded by a spectacular seaside view, we were soothed by the fish swimming gracefully in the huge aquarium. The dolphin show was very impressive, and the jumps were amazing! The play area brought me back to my childhood, and interacting with the walruses was also very moving. It was a very satisfying day for the whole family.

Oita Marine Palace Aquarium's "Umitamago" was a very fun aquarium where you could get up close and personal with the animals. While the fantastical large tank and the impressive dolphin show were soothing, it was also impressive to be able to interact with the animals in the touching area. The aquarium was comfortable and a place where both adults and children could relax and enjoy themselves.

It's so much fun! You get really close to the animals, it's great and very interesting.

Seeing the handsome katana (actually a ribbonfish XD), jellyfish resembling lucky clover of the sea, adorable garden eels, and even fish that locals love to eat in one tank—it's a bit of a quirky thing XD. The aquarium is small and not crowded, but it's very unique and fun. You can even take pearls and make your own necklaces. If you're in Oita, it's worth a visit. Take the bus from Oita Station to Tanoura Station, then stroll along the route of the Oita Marathon—a truly enjoyable experience with its mountains and sea. Of course, the aquarium's main attraction is the sea lion (or similar) show, but whether you watch it depends on your personal preference. Later, we watched dolphins playing with balls in the water—we were incredibly close! But because we were so close, we noticed obvious abrasions on their bodies, which was a bit heartbreaking.

I took my 6-year-old and 4-year-old. There was a play area inside so they had plenty of fun.

It was a fantastic experience! The facilities were very friendly, and the animals were all so cute! You could even touch the seals and sea lions, and feed the otters – they were adorable! I highly recommend arriving early to find seats in the viewing area; it gets incredibly crowded.

The sea lions had a lot of demonstrations, and you could touch some of the animals, and even try making pearl jewelry. The aquarium was very clean and bright, with plenty of great photo spots, and the animals were very active in showing off. It was a wonderful experience, and if you're in the area, you absolutely have to visit!

It was a great deal with a 5% discount off the regular price. I was able to enter immediately by showing the QR code at the entrance.

Being an aquarium that promotes walruses, I was happy to find walrus merchandise and food and drink menus that are hard to find elsewhere. Ichiko-chan was very cute playing with her fins and other toys, and the show was close and impressive. I was very satisfied with being able to interact with the animals. I live far away outside the prefecture, so I'll try to come here once every six months.
