2D1N King Crab Seafood Safari from Rovaniemi | Finland

This King Crab Seafood Safari was an absolute highlight of my trip! From the moment we set off with our knowledgeable guide, the experience was fantastic. Learning about the king crab fishing process was fascinating, and actually participating in the crab catching was thrilling. The freshest king crab I've ever tasted! The scenery was stunning, and the guide's stories and explanations made the whole experience even more enriching. Highly recommend this tour to seafood lovers and adventure seekers alike!

We embarked on a king crab tour from Rovaniemi to Kirkenes, Norway. We took photos with freshly caught king crabs on the lake, then enjoyed incredibly fresh king crab at a restaurant – absolutely delicious! 😋 In the evening, we witnessed the aurora borealis in the suburbs – a truly breathtaking experience! Although the round trip was long, it was totally worth it! It was the most spectacular aurora we saw on our entire trip! I highly recommend double-checking the meeting time the day before departure. I received a reminder in my email, but I forgot, and ended up waiting two extra hours in the cold wind!

We joined a two-day Arctic tour led by Ken, which was absolutely amazing! On the first day, we caught king crabs and had them freshly cooked—so fresh and satisfying! That night, we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. Ken was incredibly considerate, looking after every participant and creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere. On the second day, we visited the Sámi Museum, strolled through a mountain village, and floated under the starry sky on an Arctic lake. The entire trip was both magical and well-organized—highly recommended!

I mainly participated in the King Crab and Aurora Chasing tours, both of which came true. I was very excited and met a very good tour leader Ken.

It is recommended to stay directly in the cabin inside, which will make the price more suitable.

What I like most is that I saw a lot of ice and snow, beautiful scenery along the road, and then I was accompanied by a tour guide to explain the local ecological environment, the way of life of the residents, and the knowledge is very rich

If you only have two people (or a small group of three or four people) and want to play king crab, then this itinerary is recommended. It takes seven and a half hours a day for the tour guide to drive (even longer with a meal + rest), not to mention the cold, windy and snowy road conditions. But be careful, we received KKday's itinerary notice at 7-8 o'clock; but we had to contact the travel agency in advance, only to know that we will go out at 6:30 in the morning, so we must pay attention. It is cheaper to buy an itinerary on KKday than to buy it on the spot. The king crab trip is not an all-you-can-eat meal, but I ate five crab legs and was really full. In addition, after December in winter (depending on the weather), instead of taking a kayak (so it is not a small steamboat) to fish, it is to go to a pre-opened ice hole on the ice and pull out the crab cage. There is no sea of ice floating. Because they are all frozen in Europe. This point must be understood first, so that there will be no misunderstanding. But the English explanation of king crab is really good. (The tour guide said that our demonstrator this time is more talkative and humorous, and the ones he encountered before were rather boring) Chasing the aurora is really going out to chase, but I saw the cloud map that day, a thick layer and a radius of 300km. Shrouded, I only had to ask the tour guide to drive to the border to check in and flashed. The accommodation hotel has asked the travel agency first, and now they don’t go to the cabin, but to the hotel, because the cabin does not have breakfast. Then, the breakfast in the hotel I went to was really rich and delicious (I don’t know if it’s related to two or three groups of Asian passenger coaches coming to live) In addition, the so-called xxx waterfall only appeared on the itinerary on the order. Later, the tour guide took us there. The point is, it was really a translation error. He is just a commanding height, but there is a gift shop and you can go to the toilet. We finally returned to Rovaniemi Airport, all the way down, and it was 7:30 in the evening. In short, the distance is really long, and it is much more relaxing to let the tour guide drive. Our tour guide this time is from Taiwan, so communication is much more convenient. Later I learned that the travel agency recruits staff every winter and works for half a year, so I think the staff is different every year. )

I didn't eat sea urchin during the itinerary, the king crab was not all-you-can-eat, and I didn't go to see the waterfall, but the tour guide was very professional, knowledgeable and cheerful, and the whole process was fully serviced, giving them full marks, but the itinerary was not very acceptable.
