There were no proper changing rooms; everyone undressed completely in front of open lockers before heading to the central shower area. It was a little embarrassing, but the water quality was quite good—very clear and without any hot spring smell. For a moment, I wasn't even sure what I was soaking in. There were about seven or eight pools with different temperatures to choose from. The shower area also provided hand-operated shampoo and shower pumps for lathering. Overall, it was a rather unique experience. The open space, with everyone completely naked, actually made me feel less intimidated. Because it was outdoors, it didn't feel stuffy or enclosed. Remember to bring a towel, a swimming cap/shower cap (for women), and 20 yuan coins (valuables can be locked in lockers).
