Chiang Mai Living Green Elephant Experience and Inthanon Heaven Trail | Thailand

We love how our guide Adam is very accomodating and kudos to our driver for a very smooth ride to the elephant sanctuary and doi inthanon despite of the rainy weather. Our guide was able to assist us all throughout our trip. My children cant forget their encounter with the elephants, they are so cute! Good thing they are being taken care of at the sanctuary. It was a worthy experience for us. We got to have an enjoyable encounter with the elephants. Also, we visited the highest point of Thailand in Doi Inthanon. The Twin Pagodas are so nice and the view is really wonderful. At last, we had the chance to visit the Pha Dok Sieo Waterfalls and tasted the coffee and tea of Pati Non Coffee Roasting Plant. Well organized trip. Half day with the elephants while another half day to visit Twin Pagoda & jungle trekking at Kew Mae Pan trail at Doi Inthanon. It will be even better if have more time to spend at Twin Pagoda. But still, worth the money that we paid for.

Pick up was smooth and efficient. Had a great time with the elephants. Unfortunately weather not totally cooperative so couldn’t see the pagodas at doi inthanon as they were fogged over. But great value as seeing elephants only usually costs more than buying this combined package through KKday. Saved us time from doing two separate trips too!

The itinerary was full, the time was well managed, and the waterfall was more spectacular than you could imagine!

You can learn how elephants have been conserved and cared for in Thailand in recent years. It is a very healing trip.

You can have close contact with the elephants. The itinerary is very rich. It is already past seven o'clock when we return to the ancient city. The car is very new, but the road is very bumpy, so it is recommended that you take motion sickness medicine.

It was fun to experience feeding elephants for the first time, and it was easy to hike for 1.5 hours. In January, you can wear short sleeves instead of long sleeves.

We picked up the car at the hotel on time. The tour guide John gave a series of explanations about elephants. The staff at the elephant camp were very enthusiastic to help take photos. In the afternoon, we went to Doi Inthanon. The weather on the mountain was cooler and the scenery was very beautiful.

Although there was an incident in the morning where I almost lost my package (fortunately, I was provided with the travel agency’s phone number beforehand, so I called and asked immediately, and it was resolved, and another car was sent to pick me up). It is very important to get an eSIM with calling, or you can ask the hotel Counter staff assist. After picking up the group members, we will drive to a gas station to rest (there are 7-11 and some stores) where you can buy some breakfast, raincoats, etc. After driving for more than an hour, we arrived at the elephant park. After simply listening to the precautions, we can go feed the elephants. The whole process is safe, and the people in the park will help take photos (you can download the photos yourself on Facebook later). Bathing the elephants is also fun. A simple lunch of Pad Thai, fruit, and water is provided. Simple but clean. The environment here is also very well maintained, there is no smell, no flies, etc. It was really clean. Due to the weather in the afternoon, Doi Inthanon National Park was filled with thick fog and rain. Although it was a pity, it still did not diminish our interest. Saw the waterfall and drank coffee at the end. The whole day trip was very easy and highly recommended.
