Gunkanjima Landing Tour and Digital Museum Visit｜Departure from Nagasaki

Informative and interesting tour. Wine tour was conducted in Japanese, English guide book was provided to let us follow along easily.

Excited, punctual, smooth, but my hat flew away and left behind the island. Guide didn’t not bring the long clip that day. Therefore, unable to help.

Guide was purely in Japanese, but they provided us with an English booklet with all the information translated in English that the guide was going to say. it was a great initiative! pleasantly surprised that there was also an English speaking sub-guide (the main guide was speaking in Japanese) with us to guide us in English. wish we had some time to explore the island as it was very rushed, the moment you got onto the island then move from observation decks 1 to 3. is a short walk only. after explain finish in Japanese, need to immediately go back to boat. takes 40mins to go to the island, the boat circles around the island for the premium and super premium customers to take photo on the upper deck. kkday doesn't have this option when we buy, so we are all considered standard. that being said, we can go to the back of the boat and still take nice shots of the island.

Even though I had watched related videos in a digital museum beforehand, I was still shocked when I actually took a boat to visit Hashima Island. It's amazing that they were able to expand the island several times and conduct deep seabed exploration and mining on such a remote island. The power of technology is truly amazing.

If you come to Nagasaki, you must visit Gunkanjima. It's like traveling back in time to the past and witnessing the island's hustle and bustle. Highly recommended!

Before landing on Gunkanjima, I visited a digital museum to learn about the life and work of the time. The museum is really rich in content, which makes it easy to get involved in the island. The boat is very stable during the trip, and it is not uncomfortable to go back and forth. The tour guide is in Japanese, but you can borrow a Chinese tour guide from them. The tour guide will introduce the attractions and history you pass by on the way there, which is not boring at all. The staff are very enthusiastic and will help you if you have any questions. There is also a lucky ball lottery opportunity on the way back. Before landing on the island, you will go around the island first because Gunkanjima is already an uninhabited island. You can only see part of the appearance when you land on the island, so you can see the entire appearance of Gunkanjima by going around the island. After landing on the island, it is more shocking than the photos or the scenery around the island. It is hard to imagine how this small island can fit so many facilities. It is really appropriate to describe it as small but complete. I think it is really worth buying the ticket without hesitation.

The itinerary includes admission to the Gunkanjima Digital Museum. If you join the afternoon tour, it is worth visiting and learning more about Gunkanjima before boarding the ship. The weather was good that day and we were lucky enough to be able to land on the island!
