Xuedou Mountain is one of the five famous Buddhist mountains in China and is the dojo of Maitreya Buddha.

Song poet Wang Shiling wrote in his poem: "The deep valley is flat with empty clouds, and the cold waterfall flies horizontally for thousands of years. Legend has it that the eminent monk Zhihe of Xuedou Temple in the Song Dynasty once lived here to practice Buddhism. Every day, he came to Miaogao Terrace to preach on the Yanzuo Stone, telling Buddhist Zen sayings, which fascinated the two tigers under Miaogao Terrace. So whenever Zhihe Zen Master knocked the wooden fish, the tigers would jump from the cave to the stage to listen. Over time, they were inseparable from Zhihe Zen Master and had a deep friendship. One day, Zhihe Zen Master died while sitting on the Yanzuo Stone. The two tigers lay beside his body, guarding his spirit day and night until his body passed away, and then they died.
