蓬萊閣坐落在山東省煙台地區的蓬萊市城北海邊的山崖上，始建於宋朝（即公元1070年），距今已有900多年的歷史，它與滕王閣、黃鶴樓、岳陽樓一起並稱中國古代四大名樓。素有仙境之稱的蓬萊，自古便是秦皇漢武求仙訪藥之處。整個蓬萊閣建築群是由三清殿、呂祖殿、蘇公祠、天后宮、龍王宮、蓬萊閣、彌陀寺等組成，他們坐落在一座小山坡上，先爬坡登山，先後參觀這幾個宮殿。
