Kumamoto to Shimabara (Nagasaki) One-way ferry ticket reservation

Was there super early. Ended up first in the queue. The kids have fun time feeding the sea gulls.

Ticket exchange was easy and fast. Counter does not speak fluent English but good enough to understand and able to communicate. Ferry was big and spacious with lots of seating.

Perfect for those who want to secure a spot ahead of time. Just drove straight to the entrance gate with my vehicle and told the gatekeeper “KKDay booking”. The gatekeeper already had a list with my group’s details and directed me to the designated parking queue. Once parked in the queue, just walk into the building to collect the ticket from the counter and get back into the vehicle to wait for boarding. Ferry was comfortable and the ride was smooth. Highly recommended.

Check in area was pretty easy using google maps following the address on voucher. Our car was guided to one of the waiting lanes and a voucher was handed to me for exchange for the ferry tickets at the office. Very orderly load and unload and the trip was simple and quick in 35 mins.

Choosing to go around 4 PM allows you to watch the sunset and feed the seagulls, making it well worth the time.

It's very convenient to travel between Kumamoto Port and Shimabara Port! You can feed the seabirds on the boat, which is super fun!

I took the Kumamoto Ferry (Kumamoto ⇒ Shimabara, about 30 minutes) for the Gunkanjima cruise. The weather was perfectly calm, the interior of the ship was clean, and I had a very comfortable time. I would definitely use it again.
