With the QR code you can line up at counter 7 to get a physical ticket and the line there is not long at all compared to the other lines so it does save time. Pre booking is easy and convenient and I think we saved a little by combining with the Edo Wonderland pass.

I was able to get in smoothly at Nikko Edomura during Golden Week. The next day I went to Nikko Toshogu Shrine, but I was able to easily pass by the huge queue. Although I had to wait a little in the queue for people with electronic tickets, it was much less time consuming than the queue for people buying tickets on the day. It was stress-free.

We went there during Golden Week. We expected it to be very crowded, but it wasn't that crowded, and it was just the right amount of crowded. The people in the town were all nice, and the events didn't have to be long, so it felt like a hidden gem. There weren't many food options, so it might be best to bring your own lunch and eat snacks and light meals here and there. My son, a third-grader in elementary school, seemed very satisfied with the ninja-related and sword-fighting training. The detective missions were quite difficult, and we both had a hard time, but we managed to get a certificate at the end. We had a great time all day.

Both were great. In particular, all the staff at Nikko Edomura were actors, so it really felt like I had traveled back in time to the Edo period. The customer service was also excellent!

I was able to enter both Edomura and Toshogu Shrine smoothly. It would be even better if there was a set ticket for the Toshogu Treasure House.

You need to add the time for waiting and changing buses, so you need to have enough time, otherwise it will be a bit of a rush.

I thought the entrance fee was expensive, but once you enter, you have to pay for various things. The cheapest costume is 4,000 yen. The reviews said that they would talk to you when you put on the costume, but that didn't happen (lol). Most of the staff were kind, just like the reviews said.
