This four-day Hokuriku JR Pass saves tens of thousands of yen in transportation costs (including unlimited Shinkansen non-reserved seats, regular JR trains, JR buses within Kanazawa City, and Echizen Railway). Besides visiting popular attractions in Kanazawa City, I also went to Tsuruga to watch the sunset, enjoyed delicious desserts at Nakamichi Genzo Tea Shop, visited the Fukui Dinosaur Museum, and took an optional ride on the Toyama Chiho Railway from Shin-Kurobe to Unaizuki Onsen and Kurobe Gorge, before finally visiting Doraemon's hometown in Takaoka City. It was a very fulfilling four-day itinerary, and I couldn't believe how exciting the Hokuriku region is. However, be aware that some Shinkansen trains don't have reserved seats, and JR buses run very infrequently.
