At Fenqihu Train Station, visit various attractions including the oldest train garage and square bamboo trail. Don't miss out on appetising street food like aiyu jelly, Fenqihu bento, special snack "train cake", and so much more!

Arrive at Alishan Forest Recreation Area

It is recommended that you take a break at Alishan Railway Station and enjoy Fenchihu bento

Proceed to Alishan Train Station to board the Alishan Forest Railway and leisurely stroll through the forest paths to fully enjoy the phytoncides. The route includes: Alishan Station → Zhaoping Station → Zhaoping Park → Sky Walk → Sister Lakes → Three Brothers → Four Sisters → Golden Pig's Blessing → Eternal Love → Magnolia Garden → Shouzhen Temple → Xianglin Arch Bridge → Elephant Nose Tree → Three Generations Tree → Xianglin Elementary School → Thousand-Year Cypress → Tree Spirit Pagoda → Ciyun Temple → Alishan Museum → Suspension Bridge → Giant Tree No. 28 → Shenye Waterfall → Alishan Sacred Tree Ruins → Shenmu Station → Alishan Station

The whole journey takes about 2 hours. This trip provides small train tickets for the Zhaoping Railway Station Line + Shenmu Line so that passengers can explore the park on their own.

Depart for Hinoki village

Alishan is renowned worldwide for its stunning scenery and rich forest resources, earning Chiayi City the title of forestry capital. Hinoki Village, formerly Hinoki Town, reflects this heritage with its largest collection of Japanese-style architecture in Taiwan, evoking the charm of Kyoto. The village features ten exhibition halls showcasing various artworks, including paper sculptures, Alishan Railway models (made of cypress wood), wooden toys, seed art, and antiques. Don’t miss the five-star restrooms made entirely of cypress wood. Established during the Japanese colonial period as accommodation for forestry development, Hinoki Village was built predominantly with Alishan cypress wood, leading to its original name, "Hinoki Town," later changed to "Hinoki Village."

Take a ride to Chiayi Railway Station or Chiayi High-Speed Rail Station

(If you decide to go to Chiayi High-Speed Rail Station, you can take a free BRT shuttle bus from the rear station of Chiayi Railway Station. Buses run approximately every 15 to 20 minutes, with a journey time of about 30 minutes.)

If passengers need to buy return tickets, it is recommended to take the train after 19:00; it is recommended to take the high-speed rail after 19:30, which will lessen the rush.
