The boat ride against the flow of the waterfall current was exhilarating. The ride was optional and cost 10CHF per pax and it is highly recommended. The most powerful waterfall in Europe. The visit to the quaint little medieval village of Steine by the Rhine was lovely. The beautiful facade of the buildings brings you back in time to ancient history when Kings and Knights ruled the land.

*You need an additional 10 Swiss francs to ride the boat! If you take the boat, you can get as close as possible to the waterfall and feel the power of nature! You will get a little wet! Even if you don't take the boat, there are many places you can see on foot. Also, the town near the German border has a beautiful townscape that makes you feel like you've wandered into a picture book. The gelato I had there was really delicious! It's easier to walk around the town if you have cash!

The tour quality is good, with two tour guides in front and behind, and detailed explanations in English and German. The waterfall is worth the extra 15 minute boat ride.
