Bali Snorkeling Day Tour: Tanjung Jepun & Blue Lagoon | Indonesia

Overall, it was a very satisfying tour! I didn't really have a clear idea of how the tour would work before I joined, so I'll explain it here: A dedicated driver will be assigned to accompany you all day. Pickup time was discussed the day before. In our case, we were picked up at the hotel (Kuta) at 7:00 AM; From 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, we went out on a boat with a group of six people and snorkeled at two spots; and then we relaxed on the beach (we decided how long we stayed). Afterwards, we visited a coffee plantation, and if we wanted, they might even take us to a silver accessory shop, so it was a very flexible tour. Our driver, Widi, was very kind and always looked out for us during the tour, taking lots of photos for us. He was friendly and fluent in English, and he taught us about Balinese culture during the trip, making for a fun time.

We participated in this tour in late July. We communicated with the driver for our trip to and from the hotel via WhatsApp, so we were able to work out flexible schedules (e.g., we negotiated for an 8:30 AM pickup, as the suggested 7:30 AM pickup was too early). The roads to and from the tour were jammed with traffic, but the local guide greeted us cheerfully and kindly helped us get ready. We brought our own snorkeling gear, but we borrowed some for our children, who quickly prepared them and sent us off to the boat with a smile. The guide on the boat was also kind, gently letting our children, who weren't very good swimmers, hold onto the inflatable rings and guide them to a spot where the fish were beautiful. We were able to see many coral reefs and vibrant fish in the shallows, and we were even lucky enough to see a sea turtle! (We were so lucky to see a sea turtle right where the guide told us to hurry!) The tour took us to some great spots, and I highly recommend snorkeling in the Blue Lagoon as a tour.

Bali Sea was not a good sea for snorkeling, perhaps because the waves were strong. Nevertheless, I remember very much how friendly and attentive the pick-drop staff, boat staff, and other supporting staff were. They always wait 20-30 minutes before the appointment time and prepare anything that tour users might need in advance. Everything was perfect except the high waves.

I only wanted to do snorkeling, so I booked this tour. I think other tours would have been OK in Japanese, but since I was with my child, I chose English only. The young driver tried his best to understand my poor English. (I ended up using a translation app.) As for the main event, snorkeling, there were almost no Japanese people there, and the staff only spoke English. The water was very clear, and there were lots of fish. I'm glad I went. The price was also reasonable, according to the locals.

I made a reservation because the 9am pick up was attractive, but the night before, a message was left at the hotel saying "I'll be there at 7:30", which made me panic. I emailed kkday but didn't get a reply in time, so I looked up a local tour company, inquired on their website, and had them change the time back to the one on the voucher. It was quite a struggle, but the snorkeling at two locations (total of 2 hours) was wonderful, and the boat staff accompanied me the whole time, even though I'm not a good swimmer, so I'm very grateful to them.

The full time of the trip is not consistent. It takes less than an hour and a half to go to the two islands. The boathouse stopped me and told me to leave. The meal time itself was written at 14:00 and became full at 12:00. Then I went to the third trip beach. After that, I have to sit for more than an hour to take a shower, not at all, in the end, all drivers and others!
