JR PASS: Hokkaido Rail Pass, Sapporo-Noboribetsu or Sapporo-Furano Area Pass (E-Ticket)

Reasonably priced to travel various places in Hokkaido nearby Sapporo, including Otaru, Noboribetsu, New Chitose Airport and Sapporo Beer Hokkaido Factory.

We used the pass to see most of Hokkaido and it was truly the best way to access Hokkaido.

The redemption was very easy and fast. The counter location also convenient. Using the pass I was able to move around easily around Hokkaido. Managed to visit Otaru and the Royce’ Cacao!

Using this pass you can hop on and hop off in the specific area with unlimited time. You can reserve the seat at a station by machine or the station staff.

JR Pass is a must for those travelling around Hokkaido without a car. We went to Otaru, Sapporo, Furano and Asahikawa and were able to reserve seats on some trips as well. There were no problems reserving around 1h in advance of the trips, and it made our journey more fuss-free and relaxing. It looks like only kkday offered a special Have Fun in Hokkaido pass with the JR, which made the purchase more worth. It was a very hot day in summer at the Asahikawa Zoo, and with the combo ticket we were able to buy some food and drinks or even souvenirs at the shops in the Zoo. Mount Moiwa was amazing but sadly it was foggy so we could not experience its full beauty.
