trip started off with heavy rain thus we went for cha guo (tea cake) making workshop first (not salted eggs workshop). boight some prawn paste sauce and looked at how it was made. Then we went for boat ride and spotted a grey dolphin leaping off a few times (just able to see the fin only actually but this is to be expected ans we are considered lucky to be able to see). then we went to the taio hotel to take a look and walked back to visit the shaolin gongfu training site. in the end had lunch at one of the restaurant at tai o, food was so so only. overall a pleasant experience but can consider going to tung cong town for more sumptuous and reasonable-priced lunch

The tour guide will take you to Tai O by bus. There are mountain roads along the way, so remember to take motion sickness pills if you are prone to motion sickness. Visit the old streets, admire the historical sites, chase dolphins on a yacht, make salted duck eggs, visit the wetlands to see fiddler crabs, and speak Cantonese along the way. The tour guide will also explain in clumsy Chinese. On the way back, you will be dismissed at Tai O Bus Station and take the bus back to Tung Chung Station at your own expense. Remember to bring change or Octopus card.

This in-depth tour was mainly supported by the tour guide, and the boatman also shared a lot. Although we couldn’t see the white dolphins due to weather problems, the children were still able to go out to sea and have a great time. The knowledge about the stilts and some wild plants was very interesting. It can be heard that the tour guide really likes these wild plants and historical buildings, which is why he shared so much! It was a very fulfilling day. We just walked too much and the kids were exhausted.

We didn't see any dolphins when we went out to sea in the morning, but it was fun to look at the shacks, the waves, and the process of searching for dolphins on the boat. I made salted eggs in the afternoon. The instructor was very patient and gave sufficient explanations. It was very satisfying when I succeeded.

Edmund and another uncle who led the tour were full of energy and explained plants and history along the way. The two of them worked very well together, and the children had a lively and interesting extracurricular experience. It was a great start on the first day of the holiday. Both children and adults enjoyed it. It is worth promoting Hong Kong's historical and ecological tourism.
