We have a great time - 2 days 1 night at Smangus. The hike to the giant trees is a must do and to enjoy the 芬多精. We stay in 雅屋民宿 and the room is very large for the 3 of us. Dinner and Breakfast at 雅屋民宿 are plentiful and very delicious. Our driver 小流氓 is very knowledgeable and caring. We enjoy the short trip and will definitely come back again.

Temperature was cold in the highland, but was also sunny with no rain. The hiking trail to the big trees was quite manageable for beginners. A very refreshing getaway on the whole with friendly tour guide.

The lively driver and tour leader kept the conversation flowing smoothly throughout the trip. The clean guesthouse was a definite plus. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great on the first day; it was drizzling and made walking on the giant tree trails damp and chilly. Overall, while not perfect, it was still a great new experience.

Ping Ge's professional and humorous tour guide, the driver's experienced driving skills, and the spacious and clean guesthouse all left a deep impression on us. This trip offered breathtaking mountain scenery, a deeper understanding of this secluded tribal village, and delicious millet donuts and fragrant wild boar sausages. The alpine vegetables for lunch and dinner were incredibly fresh and delicious. Even more fortunately, while it was raining on the plains, the weather was perfect when we arrived in Smangus – cool and sunny, ideal for hiking the Giant Tree Trail. The round trip is about 10 kilometers and definitely requires some stamina. Although it's an intermediate to beginner trail, trekking poles made it much easier. We were extremely satisfied with the itinerary! 👍

The giant tree grove was truly eye-catching; it would be a shame to miss it. The guesthouse we stayed in was clean and comfortable, and the authentic breakfast and dinner were plentiful—even we picky Hong Kongers were satisfied!

The entire trip went very smoothly. Although only a few cherry blossoms remained, the awe-inspiring sight of the giant trees made the trip worthwhile. The drivers were all very responsible! Our guide, Dazhu, provided lively and engaging commentary! What impressed me most were the friends from the Xinguang tribe, who, through their self-sufficiency in growing pesticide-free organic fruits and vegetables, allowed us, living in the mountains, to enjoy delicious food from their village! We are so happy and grateful!

I was lucky enough to catch the cherry blossoms in full bloom when I went up the mountain, they were absolutely gorgeous. This solo trip completely solved my transportation problems. The guide and driver's humorous and engaging explanations of Simangusi along the way helped us better understand the culture and history of the Atayal people, which was fantastic. There were a total of eight nine-seater vehicles going up the mountain, staying at three or four different guesthouses. The locations for dinner and breakfast weren't clearly explained, so tourists had to ask around. I stayed at Ri Ri Chun Guesthouse, and I found the room cleanliness and comfort to be satisfactory. The meals were more like simple, home-style dishes from the countryside, which was acceptable considering the limited food resources on the mountain. Unfortunately, it was foggy when I went to the Yu Lao viewpoint, so I couldn't see anything at all. Highly recommended, I would definitely return.

The team and driver were very professional, which ensured our safe arrival at our destination. We didn't have to worry; we slept on the bus and explored and ate when we got off.

Xiong Maji's guide was very attentive during the tour, and the convoy drove slowly for safety, avoiding speeding on mountain roads, making it a great option for traveling with elders.
