Bohol Firefly Tour at Loay River or Abatan River With Dinner | Philippines

It was an amazing experience. The whole place was well protected. Very clear sighting of the fireflies and you can even get very close to them.

private tour with only 2 of us on the boat, tour guide expalined everything about the fireflies, took us to 3 locations, full of them lighting up the trees.

The KKDAY operator was very nice and even asked us if we want to move the event because our flight might get cancelled. I would’ve appreciated the dinner being set in a Bohol restaurant instead of fastfood meal though. Firefly watching though is simply magical. I was jaut in awe of everything.

Great experience! First time seeing a tree full of fireflies! Apparently visibility wasn’t that great because it rained and the moon was too bright, otherwise we’d see a whole riverbank full of fireflies we were told. Nonetheless an amazing experience. The boat staff explained to us characters of fireflies and even caught a few for us. The lady who took us there was very friendly and got us takeaway dinner (part of the package) before we got there. The only downside is the tour company didn’t get us priority for the queue (some companies have that ability for attractions) so we ended up having to wait for 45 mins.

It was amazing. However the dinner served was fastfood . But we love the firefly watching. You saw a lot of firefly in a tree.

The meal that night was excellent, the lunch boxes tasted delicious (the shrimp cakes were a little oily due to the coldness). It was very quiet on the boat. We saw groups of people getting on the boat. For example, there were 2 girls in front of us on a boat. We waited for them to return before changing to our family. We didn't squeeze a bunch of people on the boat to rush. The overall experience was very good. The young tour guide on the boat was Filipino and taught us how to say Filipino thank you. When talking about words such as "fireflies" and "mangroves", he switched to Chinese. He was very professional. I heard the child say something like "Christmas tree", and he repeated "Christmas tree". He is a young man who studies very hard. Everyone can give some tips to support him.

The couple who picked us up were so kind and bought us a packed lunch so we could eat it in the car. It was so delicious. We also saw a lot of fireflies. It was a beautiful and great experience!

It was a great experience, there were many stars, the fireflies were beautiful, the moon was very round that day, and the river cruise was so beautiful.

I didn’t expect there to be so many fireflies (I’ve never seen them in Taiwan), plus there’s no light pollution, the sky is full of stars, it’s so beautiful! I really want to just lie on the boat and watch the stars and fireflies~ The tour guide on the boat is super nice and can speak simple Chinese+ He told us little facts about fireflies in English and also sang the song Little Star (he said it was sung to him by a child in Taiwan). I highly recommend this trip!

The accompanying dinner was delicious. The firefly tour is very professional and detailed. You can learn about the ecology of this area. You can stay long enough to take photos and ask questions about fireflies. It is great and recommended.
