Schedule

Day 1

07:00

Meet your driver at your hotel for a departure at 7:00 am. Then, board a climate-controlled vehicle for the 3-hour hour trip to Taman Negara, passing through a hilly landscape dotted with traditional villages

Upon arrival at the park, get a bird’s-eye view of the forest from the world’s longest canopy walk, which stretches 1,739 feet (530 meters) through the treetops

Watch for wildlife along the way, and take in the sounds of the diverse species that live in the forest

After the canopy walk, head to the village of Kampung Kuala Tahan for an inclusive lunch at the edge of the river. Then, keep exploring the park’s fascinating wildlife—you can witness insects, birds, monkeys, boars, or even scorpions!

Meet the members of the aboriginal Orang Asli tribe. Learn about their daily lives and culture and even pick up some blowpipe and hunting skills. The tribe members speak their own languages, but the guide can help translate your conversation. Please also respect the tribe members by asking for permission first before taking photographs

In the afternoon, board a boat to shoot a series of seven rapids on the Sungai Tembeling River. Then, stop for tea at a floating restaurant before your return trip to Kuala Lumpur

This 10-hour trip will end with a drop-off at your hotel

I joined a trip to Taman Negara Gunung Tahan on April 5th and had a really great time. The guide during the hike gave a clear and informative briefing before we started, which made us feel at ease. He also shared interesting facts about the plants in the forest along the way. On the ride back to the hotel, another guide chatted with us about our travel plans and even gave some personal recommendations on where to go next. Their warmth and enthusiasm made the whole experience feel even more meaningful and memorable. I’m really glad to have had such a heartwarming and nature-filled day.

Both the driver and the guide were very nice. It was too short to go from Kuala Lumpur on the same day, but he explained various things throughout the tour, so it was very useful and I had a good time. If I go next time, I want to stay for a few days and experience various activities. Lunch was so delicious.

We were picked up at 6am at the hotel in KL and travelled for about 3 hours to the village of Kuala Tahan, 260km away. It was Friday and the canopy walk was closed, but we had a lot going on, such as jungle walking from 10am, eating at a floating restaurant, visiting a village in the jungle, and exploring the river by boat. Before we knew it, it was past 5pm. After changing clothes, we returned to KL after 9pm. The round-trip driver and the local guide were different, and the time was not always on schedule, but they were kind and polite. To take photos in the jungle, we needed a license for 6.5RM/person. We also used Whatapps to contact the driver and local companies on site.
