I flew to Bangkok from Japan for 6 hours, then took the train to Don Muang station. It took 14 hours to get on the national railway. I thought it was a sleeper train, but it was just a normal seat. It was a solo trip. I was able to pay 500 baht on the spot to get to the Khom Loi Festival. The lanterns were really fun.

I participated in the standard plan with transportation and had to get tickets at the kkday counter at the meeting point, but it seems that the counters were different for those with transportation and those without, so I had to be careful. I got caught in traffic and it took more than an hour to get there, but it didn't cause any problems. I had heard from past reviews that the food runs out quickly, so I think it would be a good idea to head to the dining area immediately after entering and then look around the other spots after eating, so I think you'll probably have time to spare. There are announcements in Japanese, but to be honest, it's unbearable to listen to, but it's not a problem. The spots where you raise the lanterns are completely reserved seats, so you should be careful to make sure that you get consecutive numbers when you receive your admission tag at the meeting point. They are set up so that 1 and 2, 3 and 4, etc. are set up so that two people make up a group, and you share the ignition stand. I recommend bringing insect repellent, a magic marker if you want to write your wish, and a tripod if you want to take a selfie. I brought a sturdy selfie stick with a tripod function, but it was very unstable because it was on the grass. (But I was able to take a good video)

It’s a beautiful event and has a charitable significance. Although I was sent to the wrong venue, I unexpectedly had a lot of fun at another venue and got to know a beautiful Chinese girl. Highly recommend to come back next year
