KKday recommends the [One-Day Tour to Sha Tau Kok Forbidden Area] to explore the mysterious area in Sha Tau Kok Forbidden Area. It is suitable for you who like mystery and adventure! Sha Tau Kok is located in the Northern District of Hong Kong's New Territories, bordering Yantian District of Shenzhen City on the mainland. It was listed as a border restricted area in 1951. With the gradual opening up of the area, Sha Tau Kok has now transformed into a great place for a local day trip. You need to apply for a restricted area permit to enter Hong Kong's hidden gems and explore them. This is a rare opportunity! Take everyone to explore the historical scenery of the restricted area, such as "Hong Kong's most fairy-tale public housing" Sha Tau Kok Village, the easternmost corner of Sha Tau Kok "Sha Tau Kok Corner", the local special restricted area market, and enjoy a hot pot lunch at the old-fashioned restaurant closest to the China-Hong Kong border - Hoi Shan Restaurant, which is the only place where you can look down at the Chung Ying Street from a high vantage point. After lunch, head to Ping Che Strawberry Farm and pick strawberries/vegetables at your own expense.

I spent an enjoyable time exploring restricted border area Sha Tau Kok with a group of mostly Hong Kong residents. The tour guide (Henry) made all feel welcome (including me, a non-Cantonese speaker), watched over us, and provided a comprehensive description of the area and its history, bringing to light many things of which the tour group was unaware. The tour included a wonderful lunch and visit to a local farm. This tour greatly exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend anyone who has not visited the restricted area do so with KKDAY and CRUX GLOBAL.

The tour is full, we visited few spots and bought some of the local food there. The restaurant arranged for us is local and poon choy is nice with a variety of ingredients. We are served by a honoured tour guide

What a wonderful experience it was to visit Sha Tau Kok with my family! Our tour guide, Henry Leung, was incredibly professional and shared so much interesting information. We learned so much about the area's history and culture thanks to him. And let's not forget the delicious punchoy – it was absolutely scrumptious! I highly recommend this trip for anyone looking for a memorable family adventure.

It was enriching and educational! It was my first time to brave the restricted area and I learned a lot. Next time I will go to Zhongying Street!

We were provided with a car and had restricted area signs pre-arranged. Our guide, Henry, was very experienced and we all benefited greatly from it. This trip is perfect for families, especially the elderly. The roads are all flat, making it a relaxing day trip.

The tour guide Henry is very professional and introduced a lot of Sha Tau Kok history, which made our visit here more interesting and understandable, rather than a aimless tour. In addition, the tour guide is very humorous, which increases the joy of the tour 😆 It was very sunny and hot on the day of the tour, and the tour guide also cared about us. He did not stop in the shade to explain, and he also took time to rest. Although the lunch pot dish did not have any precious ingredients, it tasted very good and was also a large plate 👍🏻 Overall, this trip is worth recommending. It is also believed that it must be more meaningful to follow a tour guide first, because the tour guide will tell us about the different detailed locations, tour locations and historical culture to make us more interested and understand the meaning of the tour! Very good experience
