For a 10-day Kyushu maple viewing trip, I purchased a sunq pass for all Kyushu and Kitakyushu, from Fukuoka Kokura Moji Port to Kumamoto Takachiho. Sogurokawa Onsen Yufuin and back to Fukuoka, the price is half of the JR pass. If you want to see Kyushu thoroughly, I highly recommend the sunq pass.

Check the bus time in advance and redeem the ticket with a SUNQ Pass. Just give the ticket to the driver when you get on the bus. It is very value for money in Kyushu and you can go to many places.
