屏山村山清水秀，村中房舍沿溪流兩岸建造。為了方便兩岸住戶的往來，明朝成化年間，在小溪上建了八座石拱橋，俗稱為“長寧八古橋”。沿著小溪而建的民宅、古樸的石橋、橋下潺潺的溪水，構成了典型的“小橋、流水、人家”的山鄉風韻。由於屏山村為舒姓聚族而居的村落，所以又稱舒村。
