Arrive around 9:50 AM and take the 10:00 AM train from Belgrave Station to Menzies Creek Station or Lakeside Steam Station, finishing at 10:30 AM. The journey takes about 30 minutes (entrance fee included). In the early 20th century, the Puffing Billy Railway was one of four low-cost 762mm narrow-gauge lines built in Victoria to develop remote areas. Opening on December 18, 1900, it connects Upper Ferntre Gully and Jane Brook. The 29-kilometer line passes through forests, fern-filled valleys, and farmlands. Although the train no longer transports freight and livestock, it still carries more passengers than ever before. Today, the Puffing Billy is Australia's oldest steam railway and one of the best-preserved steam railways in the world.
