Shen'ao Rail Bike Experience at Badouzi Station: Admission Ticket

we did this as part of a day trip to Jiufen and it is one of the highlights for this trip. it is a short ride, but super fun. we will probably always do this as part of day trips to Jiufen now. We started at Shen'ao and hung out around Baodouzi afterwards briefly. We actually wish we planned more time to visit the aquarium there, but opted for Keelung afterwards instead.

Definitely do this activity if you are in NE Taiwan. We rode one way from Badouzi station. Arrive early! The bikes are connected to the railway and everyone must be on time so they can stagger the start times accordingly. Even 5 minutes and you will miss your time slot. At a moderate pace, it takes 20ish minutes depending on how slow or fast the people ahead of you are pedaling. You are asked to maintain 5 meter distance from the bike in front of you. The tickets are 150 one way on site but depending on how busy it is, you may not get a ticket if you do not book ahead of time. At Shenao station, you need to take a bus if you do not have a car at the end of the ride. The bus stop is next to the entrance. Highly recommend coming an hour early and walking along the path across the street which is on the water if you start at Badouzi station. Very scenic. Highly recommend.

Despite the heavy rain, we managed to took the ride and the staff was friendly to allow us to change the timing to an earlier slot. Had fun but was super tiring as lots of thigh strength required.

Good for a one time experience!

Voucher redemption was very quick and convenient. The staff immediately acknowledged the booking. The bike rail ride was about 20 or 30 mins give or take. Just make sure to wear comfortable foot wear. Kids should be at a certain height to be able to reach the pedals. But even one person can propel the entire bike rail capsule for two people.

fun! weather was rainy but it was a very romantic experience

Nice experience. My kids loved it. But the distance between the seat n peddle is a bit long for shorter kids so it's tiring for a parent to cycle when it's up slope. The ocean view from badozhi to shen ao is nice

all good. nice beach opposite the road. come earlier than your session time, but not necessarily half an hr earlier.
