全臺首座官方營運的書法主題館,傳承書藝文化
The Hengshan Calligraphy Art Museum, which uses the traditional regional name, is located next to the waterfront of Hengshan Pond in Taoyuan. The main building is composed of the shapes of five seal stones, combined with the image of an inkstone grinding ink. It embraces the pond and the trajectory of light and shadow that moves day and night, reflecting the natural situation of ink and wash that corresponds to the surrounding environment. The overall building won the 2018 National Excellence in Construction Award "Best Planning and Design Category" Gold Award, the 2022 Taiwan Architecture Award First Prize, the 2022 Global Excellence in Construction Award Gold Award, Japan's 2022 Good Design Award, 2022 Shopping Design Award and other awards, as well as the honor of the Top Ten Exhibition Platforms.
The Hengshan Calligraphy Art Museum is the only public calligraphy art theme museum in Taiwan. It shoulders the mission of promoting the preservation, research, development and promotion of Taiwanese calligraphy art, with the goal of laying the foundation for calligraphy research and education, shaping local artistic and cultural characteristics, and promoting international calligraphy art exchanges. After opening in 2021, it will strive to connect Taoyuan culture and calligraphy ecology, and build an international calligraphy art base with a macro perspective of the development of international calligraphy art.
