As the last rays of sunlight disappear and the boat lights illuminate the night, squid, drawn to the light, begin a game of hide-and-seek with your fishing line. In this contest of wits and strength, you can only choose to hold on tight. Squid are migratory creatures, and every May, driven by seawater temperature and weather conditions, they visit Penghu. When caught, the squid turn bright red in fright, but revert to their translucent state when placed in the live fish hold. This incredibly fresh squid is perfect for sashimi! On the boat, amidst the night breeze, savor the sweet and fresh squid, paired with a bowl of piping hot squid vermicelli – a truly unforgettable delicacy.
